Frequently Asked Questions
1. Who should apply?
Filmmakers with projects or project ideas that will be created in collaboration with Skoll Awarded Social Entrepreneurs should apply.
2. Do I have to live in the US?
Your residence will not affect your eligibility.
3. Is there a specific format you are looking for?
The Stories of Change Content Fund is open to documentary and scripted projects (both short and feature length) as well as VR pieces and episodic content.
4. Will you consider projects in another language?
We will consider subtitled projects
5. Who should apply?
The main point of contact for the film should be the applicant, and it is recommended that person be one of the lead producers. It will be important that film teams have a designated decision-maker, ideally a lead producer, who can quickly make decisions on behalf of the entire film team.
6. Is there a fee to apply?
No. Our application has no submission fee.
7. When will I hear back?
You will hear back by August 1, 2018.
8. I am a storyteller with a project idea or a project in process, can you connect me to a Skoll Awardee?
We encourage you to independently reach out to Skoll organizations if you think there may be an area of overlap with your project. Sundance Institute will be unable to make an introduction or facilitate a relationship between a filmmaker and a Skoll-Awarded Social entrepreneur.
